Section 7 consultations

Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act directs federal agencies to use their authority to help conserve listed species. One way they do this is by consulting with the Fish and Wildlife Service and/or the National Marine Fisheries Service if any action they authorize, fund, or carry out might affect listed species. These graphs show the consultations - formal and informal - for green sea turtles from January 2008 through February 2016.
